Evaporator coil freezing up Kenmore 253.70313213

Hello all, I have a Kenmore refrigerator/freezer that has a evaporator coil that keeps freezing up. I melted it about 2/3 weeks ago and the refrigerator returned to normal temperatures. Suddenly today, the refrigerator temperatures jumped again and the evaporator coil is once again freezing up. If I click the switch inside the freezer, the evaporator fan does indeed run. Any suggestions or help? Or any troubleshoot procedures that I can follow?

You can ohm test the defrost thermostat WHILE ITS FROSTY to see if it has continuity.

If its not frosty, Watch this video:


Leave it in the ice water for at least 5 minutes before ohm testing it.

If the defrost thermostat is ohm tests good, then ohm test the defrost heater to make sure its good.

If both of those parts ohm test good, then its the main control board that's bad.
