• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

This microwave works but the display doesn't come on at any time. I do use the preset timer buttons 1,2, 3, etc. & also
use the power button to cook. But there isn't any way to set the timer.
Any suggestions or tips will be appreciated.
Thanks again,
Steve

I can't think of anything that would cause that except a problem in the electronic control itself. There are very few replacement parts available for that model and the electronic control isn't available.

That model was however made for Frigidaire by a secondary manufacturer. If you wanted to see about getting a replacement electronic control you'd need to open it up and get all the numbers printed on the electronic control board to see if we can trace it. Post a photo of the numbers if you can.

Alternately, if you post a photo of the appliance's model and serial showing its FCC ID number. The OEM manufacturer might be able to be traced that way.
