Hi everyone,
I am attempting to fix a FFLE3911QW0 laundry center. The dryer works completely fine, however the washer is unresponsive. Specifically, I believe that the washer is not detecting when I press the cycle selection button. I’ve determined this by unplugging/replugging in the appliance, and noticing that the washer will not “wake up” if I press the cycle selection knob. If I turn the other knobs, or turn the cycle selection knob, it will beep three times as expected on “wake up”, but if I only press the knob then nothing happens. This would make sense as I am also unable to go into diagnostics mode, which requires the cycle selection knob to be depressed. I’ve used a multimeter to determine that the physical switch inside the knob is not broken, and I determined that the signal reaches the user interface control board. I attempted to diagnose the main board but was unable to unplug some of the plugs, to the point where they’re on the verge of breaking if I applied any more force. At this point I would assume the main board to be faulty but would like a second opinion.

Yes, I agree, it does sound like the main control board is possibly the problem, but I have not worked on this model as of yet, but I've been reading some other posts on this problem, you have 2 control boards, other members have found one of the control boards had burnt spots on them, and another found the connector pins in them have been coming out on the control board itself.

So I'd check both your control boards first and check the connectors to the control boards.

This is the main control board for your model:

This is the motor control board for your model:

Here's the service manual: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lxpbkTUy65bViCI51K6mNYFSRL6dAKW0

Both boards are in the back. You will need to pull the laundry center out from the wall. Look on Page 144 where it says Main Control Board Accessibility.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello all,
Sorry for the late update, I've been busy so haven't been able to work on it until today. It turns out the culprit was the UI Control board:
5304500456 UI Control Board

I replaced the board earlier today, and now thankfully the washing machine works. I was worried it was the main board which was almost $200 and backordered until July. I figured it was the UI control board through some more diagnostics I did last week, it was difficult especially without a detailed pinout/datasheet of the control board.

What I did was monitor the 4-cable connector that connects the UI control board and main control board (labelled as J17 on page 93 of the service manual). After observing that none of the wires were passing signals when I pressed the cycle selection button, I figured that the UI control board was defective.

Although this test is far from being 100% certain it gave me enough confidence to go ahead and order the board. Hope this diagnosis helps some other people who may run into the same problem down the road. And thank you for your help, Jake!
