Hey, just bought my first house and with it came my first refrigerator with a water dispenser (not under warranty conveniently enough). Here is the tragic timeline of events. If anyone has any suggestions of anything else to try I’m all ears. I think I’ve watched every refrigerator troubleshooting video on YouTube.

- bought house
- tried out water dispenser on Frigidaire model # FFSS2615TD0 fridge. Nothing…..
- oh wait! A small amount of water is coming out! just took a minute.
- 5 minutes later fridge has flooded kitchen.
-shut off water to fridge
- investigation shows filter is cracked.
- buy new filter.
-install new filter.
-turn water back on
-test new filter
- when dispenser is pressed you can hear the filter fill with water and then stop. No water is dispensed. If filter is removed after filling it sputters and splashes water as if pressure has built.

Things I’ve thought of & what I did to try and fix:
-frozen/blocked/pinched line? I doubt this one because when the cracked filter was installed a small amount of water was dispensed. Also I turned the fridge and freezer to the warmest setting and left it for two days to see if it “thawed out”. Same problem. Could there be a pinch in the line from when I moved the fridge to look for water shut off valve (maybe a little tube got knocked loose and got pinched under the fridge)? I tried moving the fridge around to see if that did anything. It didn’t.
It’s sitting turned off with the doors open right now as a last resort re:freezing. I don’t own a hairdryer and I don’t feel like spending money to buy one. Valve at bottom of freezer door is stuck. Tried getting it off to see if i could blow air though but it didn’t budge and I gave up.

-faulty new filter. Doubt it’s this one because if I fill the filter with water and plug the “in” valve with my finger and shake it water will come out of the “out” valve. So it seems like it’s working as it should.

-air in lines from water being shut off. Have pressed dispenser for a very. Long. Time. No air or water coming out. Embarrassing to admit but I even tired siphoning with my mouth to suck air out of the line. Sorry to say that also didn’t work. The fridge does make a whining/groaning sound occasionally. No knocking sound which I’ve heard is typical of air in the lines.

Other info:
- Ice dispenser is also not working. It seems like no water is getting past the filter (looked at filter diagram to figure that out).

If anyone has any other ideas I’m all ears. I’ll update if leaving the doors open with the fridge off fixes it.

It was frozen. Borrowed a hairdryer from my sister and it’s all good now. Should’ve buckled down and tried that sooner.

Do you have the exact same model number FFSS2615TD0 ? Read it from the model number tag located inside the refrigerator section on the upper walls or ceiling.

Thanks!

I don't see a water tank(reservoir) on this model, if there is one it should be behind the lower crisper drawers in the refrigerator section.

Unfortunately, @Carlb1112 didn't mention where they used the heat gun at(or a hair dryer will work), but its possibly on the outer door of the freezer, where the water line goes up to the water dispenser.

Some models have a quick-disconnect like this one:
Tubing Coupler 241806601

Under the freezer door, you'll need to remove the bottom kickplate grille first to access it. You can disconnect that and get a container to catch water in and see if water comes out before it goes up into the freezer door, when you press the water dispenser lever, remember the freezer door has to be closed first for the water dispenser to work.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I'm hoping b it's an simple fix. It make the sound of operating properly just doesn't move water.
