Have a 6 year old Frigidaire stove and the front left dual electric burner went poof. Saw a small burst of light under the glass top. Fine, I say, burner blew. That burner is used about 90% of the time. So I order 316282000 (AP4552732) element and replace it just fine. Fits perfect. I check it and it lights up just fine on both burners so I turn it off. You can see where the old elements burned out and opened.

So that night I put on a pan and set it to LOW and both or each element comes on HIGH and stays on. Of course on low it's supposed to just pulse and cycle on and off but it does not do that. Sounds to me the thermostat in the center is not working at all.

I called and a replacement element is on the way under warranty. Am I missing anything here?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

When the element let go, it likely damaged the switch and welded it closed.

I believe it would be this one here.
