The ice maker is making ice without any problems. However, when I press the button on the door for normal or crushed ice, all I hear is a slight "whirl" sound for 2 seconds and then nothing.

I opened the door and tried it and the whirl sound is coming from inside the door.

Auger is not froze up as I can spin it counterclockwise. The ice maker has NEVER been used before.

Added correct model number

The dispenser module or main power board is possibly the culprit.

I'm attaching your schematic below. In SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE you can activate test 10--->Auger Motor to see if the Auger Motor runs for longer than 2 seconds.

If you want to volt test--->The main power board is located under the front of your refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator first before removing it. Then plug it back in before testing it.

Then take a volt reading at these on the main power board, make sure the doors are closed.
RL6-->J2-2
RL3-->J3-1

The PURPLE wire and LT BLUE wire goes to the auger motor, see if you get 120 volts with the ice dispenser paddle pushed in and keep holding it in for more than 2 seconds to see if the voltage stays at 120 volts.

Here's the main power board for your model:
Board-Main Power 5304502778

Here's the dispenser module for your model:
242270102 Module

There is a video that shows you how to replace the dispenser module here:

Thank you so much for the quick reply as well as all the information!!

Since the "whir" sounded so odd, I went ahead and removed the screws to the trim piece and to the user interface, but I left all connected and powered up. I press the ice button so I could find the source of the "whir" and it was coming from the dispensing module. It seemed like it was bogged down because nothing was happening, but it seemed like it was trying. Went ahead and unscrewed the dispensing module and started to remove it, but found the rubber that blocks the hole to the freezer stuck. I finally got it loose and when I pressed the ice button, BAM!! Everything worked. I guess since the ice maker had never been used, that rubber piece never moved and became sealed after 5 years. I put it all back together and all is good.

Can't say thank you enough for all the information and the video which helped me a ton.

Better to be lucky than good and I was VERY lucky in fixing this. I think I will go pick up some PowerBall Tickets just to see if my luck continues.

Thanks Again.

Cheers,

G
