The fan behind the ice maker makes a loud buzzing sound periodically - only once in a while - maybe once every few days. Ice maker / fridge / freezer otherwise works well - everything is cold. When the fan is buzzing and if I open the door and let the fan come to a complete stop and then shut the door the fan starts again without buzzing. I guess I could just replace the fan and motor but would prefer not to spend $80 or so on it. Any ideas before I open it up? The fact that its very sporadic and stops when door is opened has me stumped! Thanks for any help.

Common for this style fan motor.....intermittent seems to be it's middle name!
