I use my chest freezer as a kegerator. It is stored outside but under cover so it doesn’t get wet. However, around the compressor it does get dirty. After having it for a few years and a couple of loves it has stopped cooling. It turns on...the compressor seemed to run when hooked up to an external temp controller but not when on its own. I also noticed what looks like corrosion on the refrigerant lines (?) ...see attached pictures. I am curious if this is corrosion and would then mean the freezer is kaput? I was hoping to be able to fix it myself but am out of my depth.

Did it run and cool when directly connected?
