The other morning we awoke after a thunderstorm. My daughter used our oven, then my wife came in after she heard it beeping. There was an error code of F10 on the display. She cleared the error and thought my daughter had left the oven on and it overheated. I unplugged power to the stove. After powering up, everything appeared normal, no heating of either elements from the oven. And no error codes appeared. I tried setting bake to 550, holding bake down for 15 seconds, and 0 appeared indicating that it was still set to the default setting. However, I noticed after hitting the off button, that the broil element was on, and it stayed on until finally unplugging the unit. No error codes ever appeared but again, the broil element was staying warm, but not overheating. From what I have researched it is either the RTD or EOC. I just need to know how to check and see which is bad. It looks like I can use the chart from my Service Data Sheet to check the resistance at room temp to determine if the RTD is bad. Is that the correct way to check it? It sounds like it is the EOC to me but I wanted to make sure before spending the money to replace it. Thanks so much for your time and help in this matter.
