Hi Folks.
I hope somebody can give an opinion on a situation I am in. Years ago we bought Frigidaire dishwasher model: FGHD2465NF1A
We maintained Sears warranty for all these years. It broke at least 10 (!)times since it came to our house. Every time it is the same issue. Control board + touch panel. I am 90% sure it is always the main board, but technician always orders board and touch panel "just to be safe". I am not sure what to make of this. It breaks every year. Sears do not want to replace it, or even offer a partial credit on new machine... Before Covid, they would usually come out within 3 days, parts were ordered and whole turnaround was less than 2 weeks. Now, it takes 2+ month.
We have a Leviton whole house surge if that means anything.
I have a couple of questions.
Is there anything that could be done, a part or something installed to prolong board's life beyond 1 year? What may cause such frequent failure?

I thank you in advance,
Mike.

No Mike nothing else can be done, these Frigidaire dishwashers are notorious for that problem, I also do the same as the tech. order both the control panel and control board and replace both at the same time.

Both the control panel and control board are very common to go out on these. I don't know the cause of this problem, but it only seems to happen to Frigidaire dishwashers.

It would be more wise to switch brands at this point. We recommend Maytag Dishwashers for the best reliability and longevity.

Jake,
Thank you for fast reply!
Unbelievable that Frigidaire didn't address the issue in the first couple of years. Worst of all, it is still under warranty that we renewed just 3 month ago.
We will take a look at Maytag. Our friends have Kitchenaid since 2017. Zero issues., but I guess it all depends on specific model.
In any case, thank you for sharing knowledge and your suggestion!

Perfect!

You should be able to get a partial refund on the extended warranty you renewed 3 months ago with your Frigidaire.
