I am a renter to a landlord who is facing foreclosure and is trying desperately to keep the house so I don’t have to move because I’m absolutely screwed if I have to move this soon (this was expected to be a VERY long term rental house for my 4 kids and I after my divorce & frankly if she has to pay for any more repairs (The central air died and the oven crapped out as well) then she will have to sell and with the pandemic I’ve been getting much fewer hours and can not afford to move so I’m trying to fix the dishwasher myself to avoid that nightmare scenario for her and myself.
It’s a Frigidaire PLD2850RDC0
The dishwasher has cleaned poorly since I moved in and though I cleaned out a trap that was absolutely disgusting, it improved a bit but not by much. Last night however it just stopped a few seconds after I started it. Nothing would fix it (cancelling, restarting, flipping the circuit breaker, cleaning out the trap, removing the trap, and the pieces below it trying to view the motor but the screws to access the motor At the bottom are stuck so I couldn’t check to see hair or pieces of broken dishes or coins, (most of what I found in the trap) weren’t caught in it. I removed Three giant bowls full of water from the bottom of the DW.

Does the 00 always show up when this happens? Have you noticed problems with the buttons on the keypad not responding at times?

The 00 error code indicates a stuck or shorted keypad or ribbon cable. Disconnect the ribbon cable and reconnect it and check operation.

Turn the breaker off to the dishwasher first.

1. Remove six Phillips screws from top of inner door panel.
2. Remove four screws securing protective cover around control board.
3. Disconnect keypad ribbons from control board.

Here's the touchpad assembly with ribbon cable for your model:

Here's the control board for your model:

Thank you so much for your reply!

If it’s on normal or pots and pans the number changes from how much time is expected for the cycle and then says 00 for just a couple of second right before the numbers on the display completely disappear. Then the lights for “washing, sanitized & clean” start flashing. I also noticed today that the machine will run on light cycle but not on Normal or Pots and Pans. If it saying 00 for just a moment before disappearing is in fact an error code, I’ll give the repair a try, I just wanted to confirm that even if it’s only displaying 00 for a couple of seconds before disappearing is in fact an error code.
