Purchased new in 2006. Have bought the EXTENDED warranty every year after. June 27.2014 called warranty number to report a problem with the freezer not working. First repair company said they could not fix it. Second repair company said the same thing. Third repair company by the name of Accord Appliance Repair took four weeks and three different appointments to finally re-charge with refrigerant while having to braze area to seal. Dec 9th, same problem and same repair company. Today is Jan10th and I am still waiting for them to send the same guy over and do the same temporary fix. I will have to pay for another year for their extended warranty and I have good reason to doubt if Electrolux will ever live up to their promise and replace a unit that can only be fixed, temporarily. I am open to any information anyone may have to resolve my problem.

Electrolux was through with that machine five years and one day after the purchase date. Extended warranty companies farm out the service calls to local repair companies. Your beef is with the local repair company. Your machine obviously has a refrigerant leak. On the first service call the tech knew there was a leak and didn't repair it correctly. He should have found the leak, repaired it, CHECKED THE REPAIR*, replaced the drier, vacuumed the system and recharged it. Call the extended warranty company and request a different service company.
*It takes 10 - 15 minutes for a certified and competent service tech to check a leak repair.
