Frigidaire FFTR2021TS2 - Freezer frozen, fridge not cold

My Frigidaire fridge is not cold enough. After a little research, we took off the back panel of the freezer to see it was frozen over. Defrosted all of the ice, cleared the blockage, made sure there was nothing even remotely close to the air vents. Left the fridge overnight to see if the fridge would come to temp and the freezer is one again frozen over and the fridge is not cold enough.

I've seen other posts for bottom freezers with similar experiences, but can't seem to locate a top freezer situation. Could this also be the freezer evaporator fan motor?

I appreciate any help!

Problem with your defrost system. Check defrost thermostat, defrost timer, and defrost heater.

Problem with your defrost system.

That is not necessarily the case and is actually very unlikely as a defrosting issue would take a week or more to develop into a cooling problem. It's usually best to investigate issues rather than just guess. JMO


If the OP posts the photo of the frost accumulation we may be able to provide an educated opinion on the most likely cause.
