FIXED Frigidaire FGGF304DPFB double gas oven/stove top oven won't preheat

Top oven will broil, but will not preheat for the bake function. I replaced the igniter. The new igniter does the same thing as the old one. It comes on for the broil function, but not the preheat function. The broiler works so does that mean the valve is good? Is this a control board issue? Thanks in advance for the help.

Which ignitor??

There are 2 in the upper oven, 1 for the broil burner and one for the bake burner. What is the ignitor for the bake burner doing when bake is selected?

Not necessaily. That valve performs multiple functions. The portion for the broil function might be Ok but not for bake.

Is this a control board issue?

Whether that is a possibility will depend on the actual symptoms of the bake ignitor.

The lower igniter is not firing up. Not sure if I should just replace it or dig deeper.

I don't usually recommend just replacing parts. Are you capable of any testing? 2 of the 3 possibilities can be ruled out with a continuity test.

Both the ignitor and oven gas valve can be tested for continuity to see if they're responsible. They would show no continuity (infinite resistance) to cause your symptom.

If both those have continuity but the ignitor is not glowing at all, the electronic control would then be suspect.

If both those are Ok, the electronic control would be suspect.

Hopefully it's not the control system. The most likely part to be responsible if not the ignitor or gas valve is the relay board (see the following link) which is pretty expensive as control boards frequently are.

No continuity on the bottom igniter. Replaced it (not an easy job). All working now. The top igniter did have continuity. Should have tested before I replaced it. Thanks for your help. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
