• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Hello! We have a Frigidaire Gallery model FGMV155CTF that is tripping its breaker. It worked fine with no issues for 2 years. The actual circuit to the panel has been ruled out as the problem. It is wired on a 20 amp dedicated circuit that is not AFCI or GFCI protected. When a counter top microwave is plugged in to the 20 amp dedicated circuit the breaker does not trip. When the Frigidaire is plugged in to one of the 20 amp GFCI counter top circuits it trips that breaker. If the door is left open the breaker does not trip. When the door is closed the breaker trips. When the breaker is reset with the door closed it trips. When the breaker is reset with the door open it does not trip until the door is closed. We have tested the door switches with a meter or continuity and they test as good. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I am 99.9% sure I found the problem. I had already checked all 3 door switches for continuity and they tested as good. I went ahead and removed the switch holder and discovered the center switch was broken. The switch no longer has any tension on it to hold itself up. Part ordered and will update once it comes in.
