I have a 10 year old? Frigidaire LGUS2642LP. The fridge side is working perfectly, temp is consistent at 35F but the freezer side is not working correctly. The temp fluctuates from 12F to about 35-38F. I checked the defrost element, evaporator fan, the thermostat, all of that seems to be working just fine. Any ideas on what to check next?

Did you check the frost pattern of your evaporator coil in the freezer? Did you also make sure your condenser fan motor next to the compressor is running while the compressor is running?

Look at the very bottom photo below where it says NORMAL FROST PATTERN.

The frost pattern looks like a sealed system issue. The other thought I had was that this fridge was transported laying on its back which I have since found out is a major no no. Could this issue be caused by how it was transported?

Yes, the compressor oil can leak into the sealed system and gum it up, thus it won't cool properly.

We always recommend standing it upright for up to 72 hours before plugging it in.

So I unplugged it for about a week and it didn't work. It still goes up to about 40 and down to about 10 degrees
