Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator LGUB2642LF4 - SY EF Error - Replaced Evaporator Fan and Control Board. Still not fixed.

Time Line up to SY EF Error.
- Replaced top ice maker due to ice tray cracked
- Every time top ice maker defrosted, water would run down inside back wall and run into freezer due to the drip gard being cracked
- Water line to bottom ice maker would freezer and I would have to steam the ice away.
- Replaced water filter due to slow water flow.
- Went in to diagnose mode not knowing what I was doing and just hit buttons. When I could not exit I pushed the freezer down errow until the display went out. Then after some time the display blink and everything looked normal.
- Next day SY EF showed up on display.
- Replaced Evaporator Fan - New fan only spins for a second and then stops. The fan will repeat this until the display shows SY EF. Check all wires from fan to board and everything showed good continuity.
- Did not know if the new fan was bad or not so I ordered a control board and another fax.
- Still having the same problem. The only way I can get the fan to run is the set my multimeter to Hz and put one end on the yellow wire and the blue wire on the control board.

If any one has any ideas of the issue I am having please let me know.

Here's the tech. data sheet: https://ecommcdnprod.azureedge.net/...product_support/FGU/FGUB2642LP9/240389646.pdf

SY EF--->Evaporator Fan Circuit

DO--->Diagnostic Mode TEST 15=Evaporator Fan

If it does not run, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the evaporator fan motor electrical connector and see if your getting 12 volts DC.

To volt test it: Check for 12 Volts DC to the fan between red and brown wires. If it checks ok WITH a CONSTANT 12 Volts DC and the fan motor is SPINNING UP for a second at a time, then replace the Evaporator fan motor.

Here's the evaporator fan motor for your model:

Jake,

I have preformed the 12v test on the Evaporator Fan. The control board is sending 11.6v to the fan.

As of now I have replaced the following:

Control Board
Evaporator Fan

The first Evaporator Fan I bought, did not test right and the connector look like it was messed with. Also the fans I have been buying cables are the same color but are in a different order coming out of the motor.

Now I have found a way to get the Evaporator Fan to run. I have the set my multimeter to Hz put one point on the yellow wire and the other point on the blue wire. I have included a photo too of this.

Besides buying a new refrigerator. What else can I test or do?

Do not know if it will be helpful. But I have attached some pictures and a service manual with a color wiring diagram near the end of the manual.

Thank you

The control board is the problem then.

Its best to get OEM parts, getting aftermarket parts is not a good thing.
