I just purchased a home with a Frigidaire LFID2426TF3A dishwasher. My first issue was a clogged drain hose which I have replaced. I tested after replacing the drain hose by running a rinse only cycle and all was well. I opened the door to verify the arms were spinning and spraying and they were. Put the dishwasher back into it’s hole in the counter and tried a wash cycle. It filled with water and spit the detergent pod out but never sprayed. It then drained and the pod was right where it fell. I pulled the unit back out and ran it again. Same result. While it should have been washing, I listened down at the bottom of the unit and could hear noises like a motor was trying to run, but obviously nothing was happening. The dishwasher is only a couple of years old and was lightly used as the previous owners were seasonal and only spent 4 months in the home. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you hear the motor running when it should be washing?

There are 2 things I can think of that might be responsible. 1. The washer motor isn't running... for whatever reason. 2. Water is draining from the machine prematurely.

For 1. a wire to the wash motor might have come off during reinstallation.

For 2. The drain hose may not be routed properly allowing water to siphon from the machine (see the following link).

I can hear an electronic humming when the motor should be running for the wash cycle.
I don't think the issue is with the water as it fills and drains as it should. It just doesn't wash/spray.

There are limited things that can affect washing; no (or low) water, water draining too soon, the wash pump not functioning or a leak in the internal wash system. The latter shouldn't be affected by just sliding the unit back into the cabinet.

How do you know it fills properly? A dishwasher should usually fill to just below the heating element. Try opening the door right after the fill has stopped and check the water level. Leave it off for 5-10 minutes and check the water level again after. Make sure the water level stays the same height.

Mine doing the same...fills completely (checked) sits, I can hear a slight beeping inside, time passes, then it drains on all 3 wash options. BUT it doesn't happen all the time. I tried to not run the water while it filled, that seemed to work, but only once. Crap made in China! How to fix this...it's only 3 years old.

Kinda shocked to not see a Frigidaire label inside!

Frigidaire is a brand of Electrolux. Electrolux is the actual manufacturer.

That model has separate wash and drain pumps. The wash pump could be defective or jammed up internally, the control may not be powering it when it is supposed to or there might be a problem in the wiring between the two. Someone could check if the wash pump is receiving power when it should be running. That might help to pinpoint the trouble area needing further scrutiny.

The pump should be able to be initiated from the control panel using the Service Test Model from the unit's tech sheet. There is a paper copy in the machine but I'm including a PDF copy here.
