• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

3 year old microwave trips breaker when power turned on. Had an appliance guy check it out. He replaced 3 switches and fuse. Ran for a couple of days and then same problem. Fan doesn't trip breaker, opening door doesn't trip breaker, just when pressing start to heat contents. Appliance guy returning later this week - any ideas and what should I ask him ? Any help appreciated, thanks

Probably a bad control board Try it with the wires disconnected from the primary side of the transformer. That would eliminate all the high side components as being the problem.
