Hi. I think my dishwasher is leaking from the steam vent in the door. I've been noticing small puddles after a cycle so I put a camera under the door where the puddles were forming. I can see water trickling down the inside of the door underneath where the vent is so I know the leak is coming from the top of the door and presumably the vent.
If it is an issue with the vent I had hoped I could just replace it but the part seems to have been discontinued:

This person seemed to have the same issue (https://www.applianceblog.com/mainf...1050rec2-water-leaking-from-steam-vent.85934/) and they said they covered the vent in aluminum foil and that stopped the leak before replacing it entirely. Unfortunately I have a different model so I can't use the part that they were suggested. Should I try the aluminum foil or will that cause damage?
I'm not sure what to do. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
