Hi, I noticed the fridge wasn't cooling enough to freeze and there was a large frost build up on the right side coming out of the vents. Found a faulty defrost timer and replaced it. Now the freezer won't get below 40. All fans are running. What should I check next? There is no more frost build up. Fridge is from 2009

Yes, I saw the photo, that indicates you have a sealed system/compressor issue.

Very expensive to have a tech. come out and repair this for you.
