Customer breaks off stalactites from freezer ceiling above the ice maker every day. I made that aluminum tape hood over the inlet you can see but they still form so its not spraying up there. Any ideas? The ice maker works fine. What if the mold heater stayed on too long and caused condensation?

Did you remove the ice maker to make sure nothing was semi-blocking the fill cup where the water comes in? I've seen that partially blocked with stubborn ice on my service calls in the last 35 years, and that will cause the fill to spray like in your photo.

I did remove the ice maker and found a tiny bit of ice where the fill cup exits into the mold. Hard to believe it was causing this problem but the customer has said it has stopped since I removed that ice and shut down the water valve a bit to reduce pressure. Wait and see I guess.
