The icemaker isn’t working. I searched extensively for repair info before coming upon this website. I have replaced the door switch, and the water valve. I replaced the icemaker also, but after seeing no change after replacing the water valve, returned it for a refund. I found a previous post (Fireman Jim, 1/22/21) with a similar issue. There is 120V at the water valve when I manually turn the cog and initiate the icemaker to take over and continue the cycle. When reconnected, I discovered two things:

1) The water connection for the IM was not secure and spewed water. I fixed that.

2) The water dispenser on the door spewed water when the icemaker engaged it’s fill function. I did not fix that, but wish to.

During my efforts to alleviate the nonfunctioning IM, I removed the cover from the face of the IM and clicked the switches to test them. All clicked when pushed. I did not perform any tests with a multi tester. Hopefully, I put the cog on the paddle stem in the correct orientation. Unfortunately, I didn’t note this before removing it from the stem.

I hope someone here can assist me in fixing my refrigerator.

Thank you.

Hi Rick,

2) The water dispenser on the door spewed water when the icemaker engaged it’s fill function. I did not fix that, but wish to.
A bad diode would cause that problem with water running into the ice maker when using your water dispenser OR vise-versa.

Look for the diode at the wiring harness before it plugs into your water inlet valve connectors.

Some models have the diode and some don't only way to tell is cut open that black heat shrink, but be careful not to get the wires. Unplug your refrigerator first.

Here's the diode kit:

I found one YouTube video about that job that might help,

Let's hope you got it installed properly, because I couldn't locate a video on that.

Jake
