FIXED Frigidaire Washer ATF6000ES0 control panel acting strange, would not run a cycle

This happened a while ago so details are sketchy whether there were any error codes, etc. Anyways the washer control panel was acting strange meaning it would not run a wash cycle. The display was turning on the indicator lights for all the cycles. Washer would not start. I removed the control panel and opened it up looking for a burnt or damaged component, with no luck. What I did find after removing the printed circuit board (the big one-there are more than 1) as a film of white "smoke" on the soldered connections opposite side of the components. I wiped this film off with some spirits, reassembled and voila - the control board worked perfectly. I hope this helps somebody.
The washer is about 14 years old.

If it happens again, you'd need to replace the control board.
