I am communicating here on the hope I can get some help since I have ran out of options locally. I am located in Lebanon-Middle East.
I cook on a Garland Sunfire x series Gas range ( 6 burners ) 3 to 4 times a week only. It is 4 years old.
Lately, the oven fire is no longer going low but staying high. For instance if I have it on 200, the oven fire flames doesn’t go low when reaching the temperature 200 but stays high and exceeds this temperature.
I would appreciate if you can just tell me what I can do in this situation? What went wrong?
If any specific videos or photos are needed to diagnose the issue please let me know and I shall send you.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice that anyone can offer.

Garland is a commercial range. I have no experience with them. I could also find no reference for a model "4522305". Be sure you're posting accurate information if you want accurate assistance.

I don't know about on whatever model you have but on most gas ranges the flame doesn't 'go low'. The flame is on (full blast) when calling for heat then shuts off (totally) once the set temperature is reached. The On/Off happens over and over again achieving an average oven temperature.

If the oven burner never shuts off, there is likely a problem with its thermostat. You'll need to get the proper model number off the range to find a replacement part.

Hello Dan,

thank you so much for the explanation and the link provided. Yes, it is true what you said regarding ranges, my issue is it doesn’t go off when achieving the desired temperature.

As for the Model 4522305 is all the information I had, I have attached the first page of the catalogue and circled the model I have alongside with the oven itself and the only number I could find on the range.

I understand that commercial ranges are not within your expertise, but I was wondering what might have caused the thermostat to stop functioning? It is very expensive to spend money on thermostats every couple of years if this issue will happen again. We are just a big family, we are not a restaurant, so this is used for our own cooking only.

Appreciate your help on this.

As for the Model this is all the information I had

If you want to get any parts or reliable information you'll have to get the proper information from the appliance's model and serial number ID tag on the actual appliance not just some number found randomly printed on a component or documentation.

Example ID tag

I was wondering what might have caused the thermostat to stop functioning?

Manufacturing defect? Wear and tear? Rough handling?? Customer misuse or abuse? Spillage? Dirt? Bug infestation?

How many times have you replaced it so far?

Sure thing, will move the range from place and inspect it from the back, that is the only side i didn't inspect it yet.

This is the first time and it costs over 300$ which is way over our budget to afford, especially if this is going to be recurrent.

Hello again Dan, after much inspection i finally found something similar to what you have showed me as an example, is this what you were telling me about?

All functional parts fail, even within their first year warranty period. A thermostat however usually fails infrequently over the course of a product's life span. In all likelihood I wouldn't expect that part to fail again.

What's your option? Replace the range?? That'd be a lot more than $300.

Yes, you need that information to get parts for it. Where did you eventually locate the ID tag?

BTW. You can get a parts list for it here:

Since English is not my first language it is hard to explain where exactly I found it so I attached a small clip on the hope it gives you an idea.

Thank you for the linked document. I founded the part and I looked down in the list and found the number for it. Is that correct? Is this the number I need to check when getting the spare part?

Also, another thing, I realized, on the oven control sit we have, it is written for propane use only and we use butane, there is no propane gas in our region, could this cause any damage? And is it possible to change the range from propane to butane.

Apologies for all the questions but I truly had no real help except from you, and if there is anywhere else you would think I should look to get help from commercial range expert please do advice. Thank you again.

Thx. That is behind the access panel. I was just curious.

If your range uses liquid propane, yes, CK4531688 looks to be the part number for the thermostat.

I do not know if butane and propane would use the same internal gas orifices. You might need to ask someone in the trade or contact the manufacturer and ask them. Sorry.
