We have a Whirlpool Gold self cleaning convection oven. Purchased and installed in 1998. Worked fine for many years. However, now every time I run the self cleaning feature... it burns out the thermal fuse. So it costs me $32 every time I clean my oven. Has happened the last three times I have used the self cleaning feature. Goes for about 2 hours of the 3.5 hour cycle, and then shuts off due to the hi-temp thermostat burning out.

Anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
Or am I looking at putting up with it, until I purchase a new model oven?

Thanks, Andy

Yes Andy, open up all your kitchen windows turn on the A/C and point fans blowing at the oven, I'm not being sarcastic, this is the absolute truth.

Your kitchen has to be cool/cold when you use the self clean feature, as the oven gets up to 800 degrees and that blows the thermal fuse.
