We have a Whirlpool GC5SHEXNB00 side be side, which I believe is identical to the GC5SHEXNS00 except for the black finish.
Anyway, the devider between the freezer and the refrigerator started getting real hot.
Reading online I found out that the problem was likely the condenser coils being clogged.
Sure enough, very clogged!
Carefully vacuumed them clean.
Started the refrigerator back up and the settings for the F/R would not stay.
The compartments got cooler, but not where they should be.
Reading some more I took the look at what was happening by the condenser.
The condenser would start up, but not the fan.
Seeing that the fan was powered by 120vac, i hooked it up directly to an outlet.....started right up!
Looking into this some more, I decided to replace the condenser controller (relay?).
That seemed to work!!
Then not!
Seems that the fans initially starts up, then at some point (after at least 20 minutes) stops.
So after speaking with a parts 'expert', i was told that the main controller powers the condenser fan, so i bought that part.
Same thing!!

My 'guess' is that on the initial start up the fan is getting power.
Then once temp is reached the condenser & fan shut down.
Then, once the temp reaches a point where the condenser starts up again the fan does not......and things get progressively worse as the unit just gets hotter.

Does that seem right?
Not sure, other than tapping the fan into power cord, what to do next!

Thanks Jake for the reply.
Here is what I ordered:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/2307037/0046/106.html?modelNumber=GC5SHEXNB00&categoryName=Side-by-Side%20Refrigerator&brandName=WHIRLPOOL

Obviously NOT a "Refrigerator Ice Maker Fill Tube Cover".
Part was identical to what the original was, except the original is a '-00' and the replacement has a '-01'.
Maybe the replacement was also bad??
At least I can return it......maybe ask for another as the one I got was in bubble wrapped, but the seal was broken and 2 'resistors' were slightly bent, though I could not see any real damage.
I did call Sears Parts right away to tell them so as soon as I opened the box.

Yes, when I worked for Sears you won't believe how many parts came defective, I had to reorder many times.

Yes, I'd have it exchanged.
