I have a whirlpool GD5RVAXVB05 that trips the breaker as soon as I activate the ice dispenser paddle. I unplugged the auger motor, still trips breaker. I have the digital conquest panel on the unit. I checked the display module for any burn marks and checked wiring harness between door and refrigerator cabinet for chafing (none found). Could it be the main board in the compressor compartment is bad? Does that control the ice dispenser functions? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

trips the breaker as soon as I activate the ice dispenser paddle.
Just the ice paddle?

I unplugged the auger motor, still trips breaker
Still have solenoid/motor that opens the dispenser door, micro switch, board inside the dispenser, wires at the door hinge as prime suspects.

Could it be the main board in the compressor compartment is bad? Does that control the ice dispenser functions?
Would have to check the wire diagram. Post a copy of the one from your refrigerator and we can have a peek. One of them probably do.
