Hi Everyone, new to the Board but have browsed before.

I have a GDF510PSD0SS that's about 5 years old. We started noticing the dishes were wet after heated dry and they weren't very clean. It appeared to me that the heater element may be the culprit so I removed it and checked resistance, got a reading of about 16 ohms.
Assuming any continuity was a good thing so I checked some forums and found a few threads indicating that the Flood Sensor has a thermistor inside and other people had good results when changing it. I ordered and installed the new Flood Sensor but the problem continues.
Next step was to try the Diagnostic Error Code Mode (should have done this first but only learned of it on the forums) but I do not have the Service Manual for this exact washer so I can't correctly interpret the results. I found a Service Manual for a similar model but the results are confusing. When in Diagnostic Error Code Mode the Heated Dry and Clean LED's are illuminated, the similar model Service Manual shows the Heated Dry LED indicates 3 of last 5 washes did not reach 120 degree wash temperature, this makes perfect sense. The problem is the Clean LED indicates a failed Turbidity Sensor but my model doesn't have one of these! I did a visual check (couldn't find it) and looked at all the available parts there isn't one listed.
So I need some help with the following:
  1. I'd appreciate the Service Manual for my exact dishwasher GDF510PSD0SS
  2. I'd appreciate any help interpreting the LED's in Diagnostic Error Code Mode
  3. Any help with next step or potential fix.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Jake,

Thanks so much for the manual.

So far I have run the Heater Test and it did not warm up at all.

Next step is to look at the Control Board but it looks like it will take more time than I have right now and am travelling next 3 days. I will definitely get to this and report back.

Hi Jake,

So I got to the control board and it looks to me that LED is blinking once every 3 seconds, but this means all is well with it? Now what? At over $100 I'd hate to change it if it's not the issue.

Video attached.

Thanks!

Ok Charlie, it says 1x per 3 seconds: Unit is not running a cycle, select a cycle and press start.

Hold "Heated Dry" and "Start" for five seconds then try it.

Jake,

Doing that gives me 6 flashes. I exit Demo mode and it goes back to 1 every 3 seconds.

I ran it for entire cycle and got the 3x every 3 seconds and when done 5x every 3 seconds.

3x every 3 seconds= Unit is in the process of running a cycle.
5x every 3 seconds= Unit has completed a cycle and is end of cycle mode.

Bingo! So now its back to running good again?

Where did all that white stuff come from that I saw on your control board? Looks like dishwasher detergent, I'd turn the breaker off to your dishwasher and clean all that from the control board, that may be causing the problems you were having.

Actually no, the dishes weren't very clean and weren't dry.

The stuff in the board is dust.

I'm at s loss what to do next.

Did you check your tub TCO? If that tripped it will not heat either.

The location of the tub TCO is bottom of tub right side about 12 inches from the front.

The service manual says if the TCO trips, reset and replace main control board.

You can see it on Page 16 in the service manual I posted above.:)

There should be a little reset button on it.

Hi Jake

Found it, it was tripped, I reset it but when I run the heater test it does not get warm. I checked after heater test but it was not tripped.

Travelling again but will run full cycle when I get back and see what happens.

Any ideas if it still doesn't work?

Hi Everyone,

Finally got a chance to replace the Control Board and run a cycle.

Thanks to Jake the dishwasher is now fixed!!

This forum saved me a lot of money and I appreciate Jake's patience with me not reading the resource he provided. I wish I could have donated more but know that this forum helps so many people.
