A few weeks ago our dishwasher began "waking up" and making the door open chime every 20 or so minutes but was still running fine so I ignored it.

Now it no longer starts and instead beeps three times, indicating some sort of door or electrical failure. In error/diagnostic mode all lights flash at first, then just amber control lock.

I've checked the status LED and it is STEADY OFF. Bought a multimeter but honestly unsure how to take a correct voltage reading.

Trying to figure out whether it is the MC or UI board that I need to order and replace (or even door latch), hoping to get some help on the order of operation to test everything out.

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Figured out the voltmeter, the board is getting ~126V, safe to assume I need to replace MC board?

Only concern is given that it was randomly waking before this issue, could the UI board also be faulty? Want to save having to order parts multiple times

Yes, you will need both the machine control board for the STATUS LED on it being STEADY OFF and also the UI Board for the random wake up problem.

--->Here's the machine control board for your model you can order: WD21X24900

Usually when it beeps randomly when the dishwasher is not in use and no one is around it, the UI Board is the culprit.

--->Here's the UI(user interface) Board for your model you can order: WD21X23463 Kit Svc Ui Front Logic

"NOTE--->When replacing UI control boards, the new UI Board MUST be configured as per the instructions included with the replacement. If the personality is not set by using the 4 jumpers, the buttons, LED’s or cycles will not function properly".

Let us know how it goes.
