Moved into a rental about a year ago "that occasionally you'll need to flip the breaker to get it running again". Handy man had to replace the main board under the toe kick about 3 months ago (still occasionally causing a CSM trip). Then 2 weeks ago I replaced the drain pump as it wouldn't flush after a full cycle.

Finally woke up this morning to it trying to complete a cycle and continuously shutting off about 5 seconds after resetting the breaker.

I've accessed the main control board and finally identified myself that the CSM is tripping (7 blinks on LED). After running the service mode, it would immediately trip. Disconnected the heating element (red plug with purple and white wires only) and managed to get it to run through all the service modes.

I'm just looking to confirm is replacing the element can resolve this insistent CSM trip issue, or if I should bite the bullet and have a tech come connect to the port and complete a further diagnosis?

Thanks in advance!

Good job, you are exactly correct, the heating element is the cause of your CSM tripping.

Here's the heating element for your model(Video Included in part link):

Let us know how it goes.

Welp the heating coil has resolved the tripping and it's working now. However the CSM is still tripping after completing cycles and just idling between unloading & reloading. I haven't gone back through the troubleshooting, but it's really odd considering the main board was already replaced within the last year.

Any advice on what else could be causing the consistent CSM tripping? Maybe low voltage in the receptacle?

Thanks in advance!

Glad to hear the new heating element fixed the CSM from tripping.(y)

Check for a leak underneath the dishwasher. And do the CSM flowchart to determine why its tripping now.

I don't think low voltage would make the CSM trip.

Thank you Jake. I've ran through the flow chart and had no trips during the testing. I'm assuming a small leak must have caused an issue previously and created a lingering issue. As suggested in the flowchart, I'll need to run several rinse and drain cycles to try to identify where or if a leak is actually occurring.

Yes, good idea!

Let us know how it goes.
