Hello, Im a repair tech at an apartment rental community and I'm dealing with a real head scratcher with the GE dishwashers here.
Original symptoms are no power to the UI board but main board has power. I replaced UI board, with new one, no change. I went ahead and replaced the wire harness between both boards and main circuit board as well. Purchased oem parts with exact same PN as the ones in the machines originally. LED bulb on circuit board is rapidly flashing which is supposed to indicate that there is communication between the 2 boards. I also tested harness pins and I'm getting the 14V indicating that there is power continuity, yet no change in symptoms, I still don't get anything on the UI board.
I currently have 4 of these machines with the exact same problem and with management refusing to purchase new dishwashers, it's becoming a serious problem. Thanks in advance for any advice

Ok, another member with this same model had this same issue:
You can see what I said to him---> It would be good to contact GE at 1-800-432-2737 to have a GE tech. come out to see what's going on.

Because it doesn't make sense to me either.

Wow, thanks... I actually contacted GE yesterday. After finding a difference in the last few digits on the part number of the new UI boards they are sending us and the original ones even though they look exactly the same, I pulled the UI from a working DW and tested it in 2 of the ones I'm having issues with and both worked.
Here's what GE told me... "The boards they are sending us should absolutely work with my models (they don't). They get a lot of returns on these boards because they are mass produced by a third party (maybe 2 out of 10 would be reasonable, but 4 out of 4 coming out bad?) They can't find the specific part number of the board I tested and worked in their system, only the one they've sent me for my dw models." They are sending me 4 new UI boards again because they insist the only explanation is that 4 out of 4 boards I purchased just so happen to be defective from the factory...

I'm having exactly the same problem (on a GDP615HSM0SS) before and after replacing the UI control board. It's the same UI board, manufactured on 12/08/22. Let us know how you make out, joelra.

Very similar deal here. I have a GDT605PSM0SS and have now received three straight WD21X31904 boards, and all get me nothing. I actually have an old UI board which is failing--it works for a day or two, randomly beeps occasionally, then dies, at which point I have to hard reset it. So I also have the ability to test the system as a whole. I plug in the old board, and it lights up and beeps like normal, and then I plug in the new one, and nothing. Or really not quite nothing. I hear a soft high-pitched hum and a few faint clicks. That continues indefinitely, but the UI Board never lights up or responds to commands. Three straight, same result. Fortunately all have been refunded, and I have a fourth on the way, but I'm not hopeful.

Are we sure there's no jumper setting to work through here? The board has a personality section, just without anything coming out of it.

If we could figure out what's going wrong, I'd have a working board and three backups for when this inevitably fails 18 months from now, and eventually I'd get an acceptable life span out of this thing.

@chi7575 , Did your UI boards all have the same manufacturing date on them?

If there were jumpers, it should come with the jumpers and instructions to install them.

No. This particular model doesn't use the boards with the pins to change personality. They are pre programmed to swap and go.

Nope. Manufactured 10/31, 12/2, and 12/30.

And yeah, I figured the jumper thing was off, but I was grasping at straws. Was thinking maybe they need some sort of soldering or something.

Did you ever figure out your dishwashers? I’m having similar issues and have replaced UI and main control board.

The problem is the UI board, you need to find the exact same part number as the OEM one. I currently am up to 8 d/w down in the apt complex, all with the same issue because GE has a back order on these until April. They may try to sell you one they claim works on our models but once installed, you'll get the exact same symptoms

Wow. 8 dishwashers down at nearly the same time (plus all the others on here having similar issues). Impressive that a part can fail so systematically near the same time, despite different usage patterns. I'm wondering if the underlying components used in the new board will be any better...or if we can expect to replace it again in 3 years.

I personally haven't been able to confirm whether I'll be able to return the "newly" purchased ( non-working) board. Thinking it might just be less headache long term to just buy a new dishwasher.
