Hello,

With a dishwasher full of dirty dishes I got the dreaded 3 beeps and won't run issue.

I have been following the great troubleshooting threads on this site, links below.

I have reset power to the unit and reset the CSM which has not changed anything.

When entering Consumer Error Mode all LEDs flash even when the door is closed.

I took the door latch apart and tested for electrical continuity when the latch is engaged (2 little black pieces pressed down on latch part in attached picture). This latch sensor piece has electrical continuity when both black sensor pieces are depressed so latch sensor seems to be functioning.

While depressing those 2 little black pieces (latch sensor engaged) I entered Consumer Error Mode again and am still getting all LEDs flashing. I also held a screw across the 3 electrical connections on the latch sensor (to provide an continuous circuit) and got the same results.

What should I do next to diagnosis this issue?

Of note, the light on the main control board has been blinking every 3 seconds during all of my troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, If your door latch switch is good, then the problem is the Machine Control Board.

Here's the door latch switch for your model:
WD21X10490 Latch Switch

This is how we ohm test the door latch switch, Follow the directions here:
LatchSwitch.png

Door closed: 0 ohms.
Door open: infinite ohms.

Let us know what you find. Make sure you disconnect power to the dishwasher before ohm testing.

Yes, this video gives you the general idea of how to replace it:

Thanks for the reply Jake.

I did the door latch ohm test at the J711 connector and it worked as it should (produced 0 ohms with door closed on those 2 pins).

I have ordered the control board and will update next week when the part arrives and is installed.
