Hi Jake,
My GE GDT655SMJ2ES dishwasher was randomly turning off mid cycle and eventually not starting at all. I discovered that it was leaking from the heating element on the bottom of the dishwasher. One of the sides was loose.
I pulled the dishwasher out and tightened the plastic heater nut. While using a wrench on this nut it seemed to be skipping threads so I was only able to hand tighten. I reinstalled the dishwasher and ran a cycle with no issues.
My question is should I order and install a new plastic heater nut on the bad side? Is hand tight good enough or will it come loose again if I just leave it as is?
Thanks!
