Hi, I own a GDT655SSJ5SS which is 4 years old. Originally it started randomly beeping so I put it in shabbat mode where it doesn't turn on until you click the start button (vs pulling the door open). Later on, the dishwasher became unresponsive. I had to reset the circuit breaker which worked once or twice. Anyway a month or two later the device stopped responding at all. I replaced the machine control board with WD21X32163 (the old part got discontinued and this piece was sold out for a couple months). Now that the power started working again on the dishwasher, I turned off the shabbat mode which led to the random beeping again which I read here is linked to the UI board needs to be replaced (part WD21X31902 which then again replaced a discontinued old version). My question is - could this damaged UI board damage the control board? I'd prefer just leaving it in shabbat mode and not having to repair another piece (the UI board). Or do you recommend replacing this one too?

Short question: can a damaged UI board damage a good machine control board?

Thank you!!!

Yes, when it does random beeping or lights flashing when the dishwasher is not in use, its always a bad UI Board.

Here's the UI Board for your model: WD21X31902

shabbat mode? You mean sabbath mode?

No, not that I'm aware of.

Yes I mean sabbath mode. By turning this on the beeping stopped so you think it's ok if I don't fix the UI board? Was just wondering if any side effects but seems unclear.

That I don't know, no one else mentioned using sabbath mode before.

Hi Jake, so I went to replace the UI board. The dishwasher is side mounted to the cabinets on each side. I have to remove the side mounts first and unfortunately when i look at the hole, the screw is slightly lower than the hole (meaning i can't unscrew it). The legs aren't in the dishwasher meaning it's as low as it can go. I have no idea what to do. Any idea?

Who installed the dishwasher for you?

I have no clue how you are going to remove that screw per your photo of it.
