Hey there,

I'm looking to replace the baking element for my GE 26" vintage wall oven without having to completely replace it right now, however, I'm struggling to narrow down the correct part without first determining the exact make & model. Due to the age & dimensions of this oven, I'm hoping this part still exists?

Based on a number of google searches with vague descriptions of my oven seem to direct me to this forum. I've attached the picture of the Wall oven along with a faded make/model/serial number tag. Again, I'm hoping to get by with replacing the element for now being they no longer sell Wall ovens in these dimensions anymore.

Here's a full breakdown and what I was able to transcribe from the numbers, so I'm a little confused as to which of these actually represent the Model number?

Make: GE Wall Oven
Width: 24"
Year: Estimating somewhere between the 1960s to 1970s?

Information pulled from the Model & Serial number tag:
120 / 240 (Voltage I believe)
3250 6C

53J81 is the model number (the rest of it is unimportant) and is a 1968 model. I'm afraid I don't have parts books to look it up. You'll have to contact a good Canadian parts supplier. You can tell them that model is listed on GE Range parts fiche #06 frame G4. (Hopefully they still have microfiche. It won't be found online anywhere)

Either that or look at the element mounting plate. There are often numbers stamped into it. Those might be able to be traced to a current replacement.

Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately the mounting plate doesn't give me alot to work with. I'm only seeing 240V 2500W stamped on it.

I'll reach out to a few parts suppliers and see if they're able to narrow down the correct element.

This company should have the necessary parts books:

Or if necessary, you can go by measurements at this site. The wattage isn't overly critical as most will be in that area anyway and it won't affect cooking temperature which is controlled by the thermostat. They do ship to Canada as well.

This link is pertinent to this reply. It was supplied by this message author.
