Hi All,
I have a GE PHP960SM1SS 36” Induction cooktop that has an intermittent issue. When cook top is cold. Center/topright/bottom right do not work and get the E6 code ( generator board) issue. When I use the top left and bottom left burners for a while the 3 other burners will now operate as the cooktop is warm and they work perfect. I know it’s generator board that is used for the 3. So here is my question, has anyone else experienced this issue and can it be repaired without installing a new generator board As they are over $1000. (New). I can purchase a new cooktop for $1500. I have taken it apart and cannot find any broken solder joints. Could it be the Mosfets that connect to the heat sink Or on the filter board that feeds the generator board to the hobs. It would be great to hear from a tech who has worked on this and provide some feedback. Thanks
Bob
