Looking for some help and advice troubleshooting my dishwasher. All of a sudden it stopped drying the dishes and when run on the sanitary cycle the dished were not as noticeably hot as they would normally be. Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

I was reading about faulty float sensors and this model dishwasher has a condensation drying system? does that mean no heating element? I cant find one in any of the service diagrams.

Please help

Hi,

This model has a hidden heater. Yes, try cleaning your flood switch first.

Your model uses the exact same flood switch:
WD21X10519 Switch Flood Asm

I did locate the service manual, and page 60 explains about it, page 61 shows and tells you how to remove/replace it: Dropbox - 31-9233 GE 2014 Dishwasher Technical Service Guide.pdf

Look at this thread: FIXED: GDT580SGF0WW GE dishwasher not heating, tried several things, What's next?

He had that crud/gunk on it as well, and after he cleaned it all was well.

Make sure you turn the breaker off to your dishwasher first!

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Jake,

So I ran the diagnostic fault codes and received one - F16 - High Water Temperature. I removed and cleaned the flood switch which didn't have too much gunk/junk in it, I also tested for resistance and I got a reading of 390. Cleaned flood switch and put it all together, ran a cleaning cycle and that didn't work. Dishes are still wet.

I ran the diagnostic codes again and this time I got something different in this order:

F48 - Turbidity sensor high
F96 - No water in tub (turbidity based)
F16 - High Water Temperature
F48 - again

Any idea what's going on here???

That's very odd.

Don't pay attention to the error codes for now.

Look on Page 66 it says there is a reset button on the TCO, but if its open it can be reset, but they suggest replacing the control board.(See Heater Section for Diagnostics).

Look at post#5 here: FIXED: GDT550HGD0WW Dishwasher neither heating up or drying dishes He said he reset it and its working again.

If resetting the TCO does not fix it, ohm test the TCO for continuity.

See where it says TCO on your wiring diagram for the heating element? TCO=Thermal Cut Off

If the TCO ohm tests good, then its possibly a faulty control board.

Here's the main control board for your model:

Let us know what you find.

I dont see a TCO reset on my model. It looks like its an auto reset and a one time high limit.

I just purchased a new flood switch, im going to install and see what happens

Ok, sounds good, keep us posted.

Jake

Would think Switch Flood Asm should fix this.I guess we will see.
