Hello, new to the site with a similar issues from other posts. I replaced the latch and the machine ran for two weeks then quit. The old power control board went from a blinking light about every second to a solid green light.

I replaced the old machine control board with the new part WD21X24900.

The new board also has a solid green light and does not start. I went through the process of holding the Start and Heated dry buttons for 5 seconds.

Machine will not start and has no illuminated lights on the User control panel located on the door. Do I need to check for 13.5 VDC at the UI Board in the door? I am not sure how to access the board (door disassembly). I appreciate any help.

Yes, you need to check for 13.5 Volts DC, at the machine control board. You can also check for 13.5 Volts at the UI Board after you check it at the machine control board if you want, there is a video in the UI Board part link that I'm posting below.

STATUS LED Steady ON: UI personality not set, communications lost between UI(User Interface) and MC(Machine Control Board).

The UI operational voltage is output from the main control board on connector J722 pin 2 black/green to pin 5 yellow/blue. If 13.5 Volts DC is not found here, then replace the machine control board. If 13.5 Volts DC is found here, then replace the UI Board.

Here's the UI Board for your model:

Take the voltage reading from the J722 connector on the back side of the control board.

That J722 connector is on the other side of the control board, look here:

It's the one on the left above the ethernet port.:)

Let us know what you find.

I have checked for 13.5 volts DC across pin 2 and 5. I do not show any voltage. The needle on my tester actually moves to left when I make contact with the two pins. This is the new Machine Control Board I just tested.
Am I to assume this board is also bad? I have a solid LED light on the board.

Reverse the meter probes across pins 2 and 5 and see if you get 13.5 volts DC.

Thanks Jake! That worked and I have 13.5 VDC at the Machine Control Board. I guess I need to plug the harness in, get to the inside of the door to test it at the UI Board. More to follow. Thanks again.

So, I watched the video to remove the door. I did not unplug the harness at the Machine Control board or turn the power off. I removed the two screws that secure the door and slowly slid the door off and placed it on the floor. When I did this, I noticed I had my slow blinking light back on the Machine Control Board. I would like to know what you think but, I now suspect a short in the harness. I have tried to wiggle the harness to get the light to go back to solid. I also hit the start button on the door and the normal, sani and heat dry buttons are lit. I'm tempted to put it back together. Your thoughts?

Now at the UI Board check for 13.5 volts DC between Pin #1 Black/Green wire and Pin #2 Yellow/Blue wire.

If you have 13.5 volts DC there, then your wire harness is good, and the part that is bad is the UI Board.

Here's the UI Board for your model:

Jake, I very much appreciate all the help you have given me. I put the dishwasher back together and it is ready to go tonight for a cycle. If something happens to go wrong again, at least I know where to start. I think we can consider this a successful fix. :encouragement: BTW, I will be donating to the site!

Did you replace the UI Board already?

Jake, no I did not replace the User Interface. I did replace the Machine Control Board. We are going to run it tonight and see how long it runs. My original problem may have been the harness between the MC and UI boards. If it stops working again, that is probably what I will replace next.

Jake, I'm baaaaccckkk!! The dishwasher only ran two cycles. I took the door off and tested for 13.5 VDC at the UI Board. I have 13.5 VDC there. I am going to order a new UI Board.

Yes, replace the UI Board, don't forget to set the personality jumpers FIRST, per the instructions that comes with the new UI Board.:)

Let us know how it goes.

Jake, It is back together again! 🤪 I'm glad you mentioned the jumper on the new UI Board. I pulled the old UI Board out for reference. Odd thing, it did not have any jumpers at all. My board is supposed to be a personality 15 which means the jumpers straddle all the pins. We will see how it works this evening. 🤞

Excellent Bruce.(y)

Correct, the original UI Board will NOT have jumpers, the new replacement UI Board WILL have the jumpers you have to set per the instructions that comes with the new UI Board.

So is it working great now?

Jake, Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yes, we are up, running and have completed a few cleanings. Funny thing is that my wife said that the machine seems to run half as long as in the past to complete the same cycle.
She said the machine only ran for 2 hours with heated dry instead of usually running 4. Happy wife, happy life!! (y)(y)

Grateful for your help,
Bruce
