Thanks to the troubleshooting guide for this model shared in a different thread, I used the CEM to confirm that the drain pump--not the circulation pump--is the one that sounds awful: shown and audible here:

Is this serviceable? E.g., if I remove the sump and remove this pump, is there any chance that I can clean it out? Should I order a new pump (and if so, what model?) Should I just let it run until it dies?

Your help is appreciated! Thanks.

If it is something in the pump producing the noise, it might be able to be cleaned out if it hasn't damaged internal components. If the pump is damaged it will have to be replaced to correct it. No individual components of the pump are available separately.

I don't know how much you want to run it before looking into it unless you want to replace the pump eventually regardless. An option might be to order the pump before servicing and just return it if not needed. Both of the companies at the following links have a 365 day return policy for parts not installed.

Thanks, Dan! Much appreciated. That seems like a perfect approach.
