Last night when my wife closed the dishwasher door and pushed start button she got three beeps and a blinking yellow light after a few seconds. I turned off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher, waited a few minutes, tried it again and got the same thing. The display showed the settings that she had chosen but it would not start. It continued with the three beeps and yellow light until I held the START button for a few seconds. It continued to display the cycle settings but stopped blinking and beeping.

This morning the display was clear. I turned off the circuit breaker and checked the control board status. The STATUS LED was not lit. I disconnected the 120 power supply plug and checked for power in the plug. It had power. I plugged it back into the control board and the STATUS LED started flashing green every few seconds. I closed the door pushed the start button on the unit and shazzam after a few seconds it started to run a cycle and is running now.

SO...obviously there is an issue. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

The STATUS LED was not lit.
Was the machine control board(underneath the dishwasher) was the STATUS LED STEADY OFF after you turned the breaker back ON?

If so, then the machine control board might be starting to fail.

Here's the machine control board(under the dishwasher) for your model: WD21X24900C

Initially, yes. It came back on when I reconnected the plug for the 120 vac after testing it for power. When I plugged it back in it started blinking.

Ok, then just keep your eye on it and see if it happens again.

Anytime!

We have been having intermittent problems with it and so I decided to replace the control board.

Yes, I agree that should fix it permanently.

Let us know how it goes after you replace it.:)
