I have a GE GDT630PSM0SS dishwasher that is approx. 3 years old. Some backstory, over that time the dishwasher would randomly shut off/no power during cycles and I would have to restart it at my fuse panel. Sometimes it would turn back on, sometimes it wouldn't.

I had an extended warranty on it so over this time I had 3 service techs come by and "fix" it, where it would work for a little then revert back. They were at the point where they were going to replace the main control board and UI board. However then they couldn't source the UI because it is discontinued (part #WD21X31904).

I have done my own investigation with a multimeter etc. and it seems that the UI is the issue. However since the part is discontinued I have no way of replacing it now with a new one. The only other thing I can think of is taking the UI board currently in there to someone with electronic board repair knowledge to see what chip etc. might be bad or whats causing the issue. Does anyone have an alternate part # for the above UI that works? Thanks

Yes, I hope so too!

Just a little update on my issue, my UI and MC boards were not the culprit. The main power harness connector that goes to the MC board was faulty, I found that my status light on the MC board would go on/off as I would wiggle the black power wire. I assume that over the years of having it serviced that the connector got compromised.

Excellent, good find.(y)

Here's the door wire harness for your model, in case others need it too: WD21X10545

Thanks for the update!

It's crazy to think I had three different techs come out and misdiagnose it for the past 3yrs. Thanks to this site and my deducing I was able to salvage a perfectly good dishwasher for the cost of a $30 wiring harness.
Also it wasn't the door harness, but the main jumper harness part #WD21X23559 FYI.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that, I'm clear now.(y)

One last update, even tho I tested my original UI board and a brand new one where they both "worked" (so I left in the original). It seems my original UI board was still faulty, once I replaced the jumper harness my dishwasher worked for a few hrs then the UI board went unresponsive again. The positive was I kept the new board, swapped it in and now my dishwasher is working like normal. So to recap, my issue was the main jumper harness and the UI board.

Glad you kept the new UI Board and installed it too, and now your totally and completely back in business.(y)

Thanks for letting us know that!

Np, just wanted to let anyone with a similar issue know. Can report that my dishwasher has worked flawlessly for the past week, it's like having a new dishwasher again. Thanks!

Some small helpful tips with removing the UI board, when taking off the door use small Allen keys you get from any cheap furniture set to lock the hinges. When I lined the hinge holes up I slid the small end of the "L" from the inside to lock it in place on both sides. Lastly to easily separate the UI board cover from the main part, I used cell phone repair plastic pry tools that allowed me to easily pop the tabs off without damaging anything.

Thanks for adding that information.:)
