Hello,
My refrigerator GE French Door Model GFE28GSKHSS is about 4 years old. Last week, I couldn't move the last drawer because of ice built up. The top was warm, but the bottom has ice built up. I unplugged the power and defrost it for 48 hours. It is cool for a few days. Now, the ice started to built up in the vents behind the drawer as in picture attached. I cleaned up all dust on the back too.

I don't know what other issues it has and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Hi Jenny,

I had this problem on a customers Refrigerator in Parker, Arizona in June of 2021, its the Fresh Food evaporator fan motor that is bad if you don't hear it running. I replaced it and its running perfect!

Here's the Fresh Food evaporator fan motor for your model you can order:
WR60X26866 Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor

There is a video in the Fresh Food evaporator fan motor part link that shows you how to replace it.

If you want to verify that--->Use a multimeter to check the fan motor voltages.

At the electrical connector at the FF(Fresh Food) Fan motor inside the Fresh Food(Refrigerator) section, when the FF Fan is NOT running:
RED to BLACK - 12 VOLTS DC CONSTANTLY

If you get 12 VOLTS DC CONSTANTLY when it should be running and its not running, then that fan motor is bad.

Let us know how it goes.

Jake,

I have model CYE23TSDCSS and the same issue. Does my model use the same PN as above?

Thanks
