We purchased a GE gas range, model JGB735EP1ES in late 2021. By March of 2022 we had to have service as the oven would just shut off when cooking. Time would reset to flashing 12:00 and no controls worked. At first I would reset the breaker but then realized if it sits long enough to cool, it will come back on its own. Unacceptable. Good service. At least the ribbon cable was replaced (not sure about the control panel). The tech explained that a poor design exposes the heat venting from the oven and can reveal defects in the ribbon cable.

All was good. Until last evening.

Dinner in the oven, we heard two beeps. The lock icon had come on on the control panel and the oven was off. Could not unlock it using the instructions I found online. Had to reset the breaker to get control of it again. Unacceptable.

1. Why did it just control lock itself (not the oven door lock) on it's own?
2. Why didn't the steps to unlock it work?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi, It sounds like the clock oven control board is faulty too, causing these issues you are having now.

Here's the clock oven control board for your model: RC19 Control (flashed) WB27X37998

Do you have the part# for the Ribbon Cable for this model Range it would be a great help, is the ribbon cable the main harness? If so I am having trouble locating it in stock anywhere.

There is not a ribbon cable on this model, the clock oven control board has the USER INTERFACE integrated into it.:)

What about the Main Harness WB18X38047 would this be what he was talking about being replaced by a tech in the post?
