I have a GDF520PGD1BB dishwasher that is not heating the water past about 80 degrees. It is connected to just a cold water line. I have replaced the element, and the flood switch. When I go into service mode to check if the heating element heats up, it does heat up very fast. But once a cycle is started the water never seems to go over 83-85 degrees. Any other suggestions?

It (along with most other North American dishwashers) are not designed to.

PREPARE HOT WATER LINE

Adjust the water heater for 120 F to 140 F temperature.

From its tech sheet:

12. Inlet water temp should be 120 degrees F./La température de l’eau d’admission doit être de 120 °F / 49 °C.

The most the internal heater will do is re-warm luke warm water or evaporate water spayed on it. It is not an immersion element.

Some European dishwashers will heat their own water but that greatly extends wash time.
