This forum has been very helpful for me in getting this far.
Dishwasher was randomly making beeps when not in use then randomly would "turn off". Power cycled via circuit breaker and in a few days or so issue would return.
I removed the dishwasher to look it over and saw fine black powder coming from the circulation pump. I assumed this was the issue, and replaced the pump.
The issue still occurred, then checked the MC board Status LED. The light would be green 1x approx 2.5 seconds which is confusing.
I found a service manual that outlines the Blink Patterns/Meaning for my unit, which appears to be one of the following (based on the service guide I found):

  1. 1x per 3 seconds
    Dishwasher in not running a
cycle, select a cycle and press
    Start.
  2. 1x per second
    Communications lost between
    control boards. Check
    connections, replace UI or MC
    as needed.

#1 sounds more in line based on the blink pattern but doesn't make sense to me as this doesn't seem to indicate a problem.
#2 sounds more like my problem, and if that is it, how do I tell whether to replace UI or MC?
I currently have the correct UI replacement board on hand but want to make sure it's the UI before installing. Can't afford to keep "throwing" parts at this.

Thanks!

Yes, the UI Board is the culprit when it does that random beeping when the dishwasher is not in use.

Here's the UI Board for your model: WD21X31902 There is a video in the part link that shows you how to replace it.

Let us know how it goes after you replace the UI Board.

If you want to verify that, I explain how to do that in this thread post:

Hey Jake,
Just got around to replacing the board. The UI board I had was the WD21X32000 which was verified to work with my unit.
Upon following the video you linked to (thank you by the way). I followed all the directions carefully. Since my board wasn't configured, I followed the jumper diagram (which happened to be the same configuration in the video too).
Once I put everything back together and turned the breaker back on, I have no power to the unit (ie the new display board does not light up).
My guess at this point is something isn't seated correctly or there's another issue.

If it's another issue, sounds like I need to become familiar with how to use the multimeter (and purchase one) to be able to identify the issue.

Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated and thanks again for your help so far!

Nope, that's incorrect.

The manufacturer has replaced part number WD21X32000 with part number WD21X31902.

Contact the place where u got it from and let them know you need WD21X31902.

Or just order it here: WD21X31902 that will fix it for sure.

Ah, that stinks. Even the site verified that it would work with my unit.
Hopefully I can return it. Either way, I appreciate the help and will keep you posted.

That is correct, it wasn't from your sites. It was another site. Thankfully, they immediately recognized what you pointed out and issued a refund immediately. The new correct part is on the way.
While I'm sure it was an honest mistake, I think I know where to get future parts from now on...

Ok, sounds good.:)

Let us know how it goes.

So...after I installed the WD21X32000 and saw it didn't work. I ordered the new part WD21X31902 and was going to install it.
When I went to hit the circuit breaker off, I saw it was already off. Flipped it on and checked the unit again and...everything was working with the WD21X32000.
I'm confused now what that's the case (especially if I swore I turned on the breakers last time when I installed the X3200).
It's been a couple of weeks with no issue at all (And the LCD screen is 10x brighter now too).
I may have to return the WD21X31902 now (or should I keep it just in case?)
Thanks again for all of your help.

Yes, You said you turned the breaker ON in post #3.:)

Just hold on to it for awhile to make sure all stays good with that WD21X32000 one.

You have 365 days to return any part, that's not been installed.

Ok...because at one point I thought I was going crazy. There could be an underlining electrical issue going on at my house (hence why the breaker may have been flipped off) That's for a different forum...

Good call and thanks!

Glad to help.(y)
