GE GFDN160EJ0WW - Dryer turns on and panel responds, dryer makes a thud sound but doesn't start.

So last night, we were doing some hot wash loads in the washing machine. Transferred over to the dryer and did a high heat, more dry cycle. 1st load finished just fine. 2nd load with similar settings ran and started. It appears after awhile, the dryer drum just stopped but the timer kept going until it was done. Some stuff was still damp.

When trying to start a new load, powering on appears normal as well as making the settings. When pressing the start button, you hear a small thud like it wants to start but doesn't but the panel counts down like it is running. Light in the drum is on as well.

Not too sure what is going on. It is a rather young dryer. Less than 3 years.

When finally getting the top off, the drum still has it's belt on so that's not it.

When I power it on and try to start it, the drum moves about a centimeter abruptly and stops, making that light thud-like sound when it stops moving.

You'll need to check if something is caught in the blower or the belt came off the idler pulley:
