So for the last month now, I have water dripping into the fridge from the freezer. I put containers in the rear 2 corners to catch the water. I took everything out of the freezer and I removed the rear cover and I cleaned everything back there. I took a hair dryer and I heated everything up and melted all the ice.

I put everything back together and water is still leaking into the refrigerator. I also feel that it is not turning on soon enough to get the unit cold. Can the thermostat be the problem? I'm also getting some frost inside the freezer.

Sounds like the drain hole/drain line is clogged. Did you run something down the drain trough drain hole? Did you run hot water down the drain hole?

Here's the parts diagram:
#622 is the drain trough underneath your evaporator coil, you should be able to see the drain hole in it, that drains the defrost water down the drain line to your drain pan.
