Freezer is on the bottom. The damper from the freezer to the fridge keeps freezing up, not allowing cooler air into the fridge. Ice builds up inside the fridge, behind the drawer on the vent that moves the cold air to the fridge and unit has to be turned off in order to defrost the area and remove the ice.

This first happened one yr ago and the Technician replaced the Motherboard. It has now happened 2 more times within the past 2 weeks. What would cause this? No food is blocking the area in the freezer drawer.

Hi Lisa, On your model you have a dual evaporator, and dual evaporator fan motors in each the freezer section and refrigerator section.

Do you hear the refrigerator section fan motor running inside the refrigerator section? You may need to hold the door switch in to hear it on some models.
