I have a GE Profile PFSS2MJYCSS. Temperature on the display shows -9 freezer, and 44 refrigerator. I went into the diagnostic mode on the front panel, did a 1 - 5 soft reset, and the temperatures starts to go back to normal 0 & 37.
Maybe 12 - 18 hours later, the panel shows -8 or -9 & 44 or so again. Every time I do a reset, it does normalize but then eventually screws up again. There is no dust or dirt on the coils in the back of the unit. Thanks

That's usually a motherboard issue. Here's a similar thread on this issue:

Your model uses the exact same motherboard:

Jake, thanks for the response. After reading a bunch of threads regarding motherboard issues, I think I'm just going to buy a new unit.
Mine is almost 13 years old, and if I did replace the board, which seems pretty simple, how do I know that the reason the board went out isn't another part that also has to be replaced.
Like you said in another post "going down the rabbit hole". Could be the thermistors, could be the damper, could be the evaporator fan, etc.
I might be fixing the symptom and not the cause.

That's a motherboard issue for sure.

Yes I agree, it would be more wise to buy a new refrigerator at any rate, because what will go out next year or there-after, right? Like a Compressor? Then that's another $700 to replace that.

The average life of refrigerators is only 8-12 years nowadays. The good old days of 20 to 40 years are long gone, unfortunately.

Yeah, I have a buddy that works for a major appliance store here on Long Island. He hooked me up with GNE25JMK for 1350.00.
Basically the same unit as I have now. It has the water dispenser inside instead of being on the outside and, it's an inch taller and 1 1/2" deeper.
I'll make it work!
